Hi!
i can't use MIDPSSH, becase when i try to connect, i give ERROR: java.lang.SecurityException
I double (triple) check my passwd...
I use Host:<IP_address_of_my_homebox:443> (my sshd use port 443 for access trough firewall)
and, of cause, i can connect to my_homebox from PC

I experienced something similar with port 80 on my K700i

It seems to be the case that S/// is blocking the ports 80 and 443. All others are working fine for me. Maybe there is some extra permission needed for the midlet to be able to send something on some of these ports.

Hi,

It probably is... to prevent people connecting in raw mode to services for which it has support for the high-level protocol. Whether it has any effect other than to inconvenience people like yourself I'm not sure!

cheers,
Karl

I wrote some questions to Sony Ericsson Support Centre (include 80 and 443 ports) and i've received a reply:

I'm glad that's cleared up! Security is what I'd put it down to. Some web browsers used to prevent you trying to connect to ports such as telnet ports etc for security reasons - sounds like the same reasoning here.

I'm guessing that there's not much you can do about it. Much easier to move your ssh server and reconfigure firewall!

It's an interesting point, however: I'll add it to the FAQ.

firewal is not my, it's my company's restricted firewall (ISA), i don't have permissions to admin it, but i can move my home's sshd to ports 21 or 5190 (i hope these accepted by company's firewall)

Thanks for your MIDPSSH!
