Charles v3.5.1 released
Happy New Year everyone! A small bug fix release for Charles, tidying up two bugs that were discovered in the 3.5 release. These include a fault in the Repeat Advanced tool, where it would fail after a number of requests, and a fault in the Auto Save tool where it wouldn’t save the “Enable on startup” setting.

This app did everything I needed when I bought it years ago…it just keeps getting better. Keep up the good work!

Would also like to say a big thanks for developing this app. It’s saved me from many a headache when debugging my web apps.

i also agree – your app is the best of its kind, can it get any better?
Well one feature request is to be able to say what tabs to go to when charles hits a breakpoint – i would like it to auto go to edit response -> raw
But that just saves a few mouse presses
keep up the good work!

Hi,
I really have to say it this way:
Charles saved my ass many, many times !!!
Currently I am working on a Flash based webpage.
1. It’s dynamic Flash
2. It works in conjunction with PHP and of course XML
3. There’s a member page with a sort of CMS
4. There’s a sort of web shop for multimedia files.
5. HTTP and HTTPS are used for members section and the payment gateway
One who already has worked on such complex web applications knows the problems I’m talking of.
Without Charles, I propably would have gone crazy.
Thanky you for this tool.

I agree with alan jeeves on his feature request, those few mouse clicks are rather annoying when going through QA.
Another feature request would be able to “Name” each of the rules in the Rewrite Tool, you can name Sets but I am using the Rewrite tool instead of Breakpoints in a lot of QA situations where I have workflows where I change user properties in the XML response from our webservices. It would be nice be able to name these (along with having larger areas for the Match/Replace fields) so they are easier to find.
@alan – though make sure you are using the Rewrite tool in the right situations, that can save a lot of repetition.
